Restoration of coup 5 begins in January 2003 with this image illustrating derelict coppice adjoining a ride.

.....and with the hazel removed the woodland looks like this.
   
After further cutting of the ash, field maple and oak the woodland is ready to regenerate. Cord wood in the foreground will be used in the production of charcoal. Note the hazel of coup 4 in the background.
